About Aous

I’m a psychoanalytic counsellor based in Berlin. I received my BA in social and cognitive psychology, and my MA in psychology with a clinical focus. I am passionate about psychoanalytic theory, and particularly Jacques Lacan’s teachings.

My interest in the human psyche arose, first and foremost, from my interest in literature and philosophy. It is no coincidence that Freud made numerous references to how great writers and philosophers before him have articulated and anticipated many of his psychoanalytic insights. Both literature and philosophy often grapple with similar questions to those posed by psychoanalysis albeit from different perspectives and theoretical frameworks. 

My work is grounded in the conviction that every person is singular. Even when two individuals present with similar symptoms, each does so in their own particular way, shaped by their unique history, language, and unconscious formations. To create a space in which such particularities find expression, one is invited speak without restriction or censorship. I listen actively and attentively to your speech, and we work through the material that unfolds during the sessions with the aim of bringing about a change in how one situates themselves in their daily lives.
